Scorpion Tennis Club
members traveled to Harlingen, Texas and competed in the "USTA
Tennis on College Campus" Regional Tournament, December 1, 2007. Teams that
competed in the tournament were from UTB University-Orange and Blue Teams,
along with Texas State University-Maroon, Gold, White, and Bobcats Teams,
Trinity University-Maroon and Gray Teams, Tarleton State University teams,
South Texas College and Our Lady of Lake teams.
The two Scorpion teams
participated in the USTA Regional Tournament, the Orange and Blue Team
members won 1st place in their brackets and will be competing against
Schools participating in the Sectional Tournament on February29-March 2 in
College Station, at the Texas A&M Campus.
 UTB
Orange Team (A bracket) defeated Texas State University Maroon
20-19, defeated Trinity University 27-19 and defeated Texas State
University Gold 24-19. Team members were: Ana Cuellar, Gaby
Nunez, Mariana Gonzalez, Raul Cano, Jorge Gonzalez, Drexel Visarra,
and Emiliano Vivano.
 UTB Blue Team (B bracket) defeated Trinity University 21-16,
defeated Our Lady of the Lake University 29-19, Texas State
University white 29-17. Team members were: Karina Albores, Daniela
Hinojosa, Diana Trevino, Rachel Villarreal, Homer Garcia, Carl
Hensley, Herby Sanchez, and Eldon Visarra.
